Welcome to the ‘Mind Me-Mind You’ programme
Cycle Against Suicide’s Primary Schools’ programme ‘Mind Me-Mind You’ is designed in line with the well-being curriculum to support teachers in building the foundations of good mental health education and well-being in children.
Our ‘Mind Me-Mind You’ programme is a child-centred programme intended to encourage and promote inclusiveness, togetherness, and a sense of belonging. It is built on a whole-school approach.
Schools are invited to complete 5 topicsfrom the list over the school year.
On completion of 5 lessons, schools will achieve Ambassador School Status and receive our ‘Mind Me – Mind You’ Ambassador School plaque that can be displayed within the school. Teachers can also use the remaining topics and lesson plans as SPHE resources in class.
You will find included in the ‘Mind Me-Mind You’ Programme:
• Story videos
• Complete lesson plans including worksheets. Please note: lesson plans and worksheets for each year group are contained within one document under each topic heading.
• Sample whole school exercises – can also be used for creating customised topic-related exercises in a whole school approach to complete in class exercise.
Using the lesson plans and worksheets provided, teachers work with the pupils on each of their 5 chosen topics as an in-class exercise. The chosen topics are completed within each year group, within the same week/month. This class work is then supported by the school completing a whole school exercise pertaining to that chosen topic. This exercise can be taken from the samples provided or developed by teachers.
